    This Pastor Proves My Point
A fellow pastor wrote a Facebook response to my column last week, which was entitled, “Our Friends Are Killing Us.” In the column I wrote, “By the same token, how long are Christians today who say they believe in the Second Amendment (and the rest of the Bill of Rights) going to ke...

    Our Friends Are Killing Us
There is a prophetic verse of Scripture that records the conquering Messiah as being asked about the wounds that are in his hands. He responds, “Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.” (Zechariah 13:6 KJV) Indeed. It wasn’t the Romans that were fixated with kill...

Kudos To Sheriff Finch And The People Of Liberty County, Florida
I realize it is hard for some people to understand (especially those holding political office), but in the United States, “We the People” are the sovereigns. America has no king. In America, “We the People” are Caesar. Someone rightly said, “In America, the people rule;...

Have Churches Become Agents Of The State?
Then-Senator Lyndon Baines Johnson devised what has proven to be a brilliant strategy in which to silence and neuter America’s churches. His bill, which created the 501c3 tax-exempt corporation status for churches back in 1954, has, over the decades, effectively muted America’s pulpits. ...

Are Americans Ready To Accept A Police State?
Are Americans ready to accept a police state? Are pastors and Christians ready to accept a police state? Are Republicans and conservatives ready to accept a police state? Are Democrats and liberals ready to accept a police state? Are there truly enough people left in this country who even understand...

    Is Secession’s Time Coming Again?
Pat Buchanan recently wrote an intriguing column titled, “Is Red State America Seceding?” His column clearly reveals that an independence/secession movement is spreading globally. Pat rightly observes that in just the last few years some 25 nations have broken free of mother countries an...

    Dates That Destroyed America

Well, Obamacare is now in effect. The decision by Congress to pass Obamacare into law back in 2010 ranks among the most draconian, most egregious, most horrific actions ever taken by the central government in Washington, D.C. This bill rocks the principles of liberty and constitutional government to the core. It changes fundamental foundations; it repudiates historic values. The same flag may fly on our flagpoles, the same monuments may grace our landscape, and the same National Anthem may be sung during our public ceremonies, but it is not the same America. For all intents and purposes, our nation now more resembles the socialist countries of the old communist East Bloc than it does the constitutional republic of the old land of the free.

    The Rapture Problem
In this column last week, I stated the salient reasons why pastors will not take a public stand on issues regarded as controversial or political. I believe every point I made are the real reasons pastors refuse to stand for much of anything--or even objectively study anything outside their comfort z...

Why Pastors Won’t Take A Stand
I am constantly asked, “Chuck, why don’t pastors take a stand and speak out?” I’ve been a pastor most of my adult life. I believe I am qualified to answer that question. Here is the stark reality: the vast majority of pastors today are “success” oriented. Beginnin...

Guns Don’t Kill People; Gun Control Laws Kill People
Here we go again. We have another mass shooting at yet another “gun-free” zone. Not only was the location a “gun-free” zone, it was located inside the nation’s capital, which has some of the strictest gun-control laws in the entire country. I thought gun-control laws a...

The Great Ones Are Leaving Us
The year 2013 is already an incredibly sad year for me--and it’s not even over yet. I can tell you for a fact that the melancholy side of my temperament is being sorely tested. As the date of this column is so close to the infamous date of 9/11, I was going to write about the spiral into a po...

When It Comes To War, Elephants And Donkeys Think Alike
Well, here we go again: the warmongers in Washington, D.C., are about to attack another Middle Eastern country. Ben Shapiro summarized the lunacy of Obama’s war with Syria pretty well in a recent Breitbart.com report. The title of the report is: RUSH TO WAR; BOEHNER, PELOSI, CANTOR, BACK OB...

The “Lesser Evils” I Will Not Vote For
After then-Congressman Joe Scarborough convinced me to endorse the neocon Bob Dole for President back in 1996, I vowed to myself that I would  never vote for “the lesser of two evils” again. I haven’t; and I won’t. Almost anytime one hears someone talking about voting...

Has Washington, D.C., Become A Criminal Entity?
I recently read a column by Dr. Paul Craig Roberts that was so good I wish I had written it. First, a little bit about Roberts. This is from his official web site: “Dr. Roberts has held academic appointments at Virginia Tech, Tulane University, University of New Mexico, Stanford University whe...

    My Brother, My Enemy
Brothers are supposed to be allies; they are supposed to be friends. This is true for spiritual brothers as well as physical brothers. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work out that way. Sometimes, brothers become enemies. Think about it: in our War for Independence, brother fought against br...

    Another Great Man Has Fallen
There are several advantages (I guess) to living over a half-century. For one thing, you figure you have seen just about all the ways that so-called friends can betray you. With apologies to Jay Leno, when I die, I’m going to have it in my will that six of my old traitorous “friends&rdqu...

    Stand Fast In Liberty
People are strange creatures. And sometimes Christians are the strangest. One would think that people who experience freedom in Christ would be the first ones to desire and defend the entire gamut of liberty. One would think that Paul’s words would deeply resonate with Christian folks: “...

Ear Tickling, Entertainment, And Irrelevant Exposition
At some point, one has to wonder why America’s churches are the largest block of irrelevant, impotent, and insignificant institutions in the entire country. And make no mistake about it: when it comes to influencing societal conditions, culture, and the political philosophy of the nation, for ...
