Pathetic: Christian Conservatives Pillory Justin Amash And Praise Brett Kavanaugh

As I reported in this column last week, Christian conservatives are livid with Michigan GOP Congressman Justin Amash for being the first Republican congressman to publicly say (many are saying it privately) that Donald Trump committed impeachable offenses. But Amash is absolutely and unequivocally RIGHT. Trump DID commit impeachable offenses.

    Midiaite.com reports this week’s story:

Congressman Justin Amash (R-MI) went all out on Tuesday when he released a major tweetstorm accusing Attorney General Bill Barr of using his position to shill for President Donald Trump on a false narrative.

Amash has drawn significant attention lately as the sole Republican congressman who believes Robert Mueller‘s report lays out the grounds for Trump’s impeachment. In his latest online screed, Amash used 25 tweets to spell out how Barr “deliberately misrepresented key aspects of [Robert] Mueller’s report and decisions in the investigation, which has helped further the president’s false narrative about the investigation.”

    Amash explained:

Attorney General Barr has deliberately misrepresented key aspects of Mueller’s report and decisions in the investigation, which has helped further the president’s false narrative about the investigation.

After receiving Mueller’s report, Barr wrote and released a letter on March 24 describing Barr’s own decision not to indict the president for obstruction of justice. That letter selectively quotes and summarizes points in Mueller’s report in misleading ways.

Mueller’s report says he chose not to decide whether Trump broke the law because there’s an official DoJ opinion that indicting a sitting president is unconstitutional, and because of concerns about impacting the president’s ability to govern and pre-empting possible impeachment.

This jives with Judge Andrew Napolitano’s legal assessment:

Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano this week once again reiterated that President Donald Trump has committed impeachable offenses — and he said Attorney General Bill Barr very likely saved Trump from being indicted by special counsel Robert Mueller.

Writing at Fox News, Napolitano argued that Rep. Justin Amash (Republican, Michigan) had made a “simple and essentially unassailable” argument that the president deserved to be impeached, although he also acknowledged that “Republicans don’t want to hear it and Democrats don’t know what to do with it.”

He then went on to make his case that Trump had criminally obstructed justice during the Mueller probe in ways that would have gotten any other official who was not the sitting president of the United States charged with a felony.

“The more serious and clearly criminal of these obstruction events consists in Trump instructing those who worked for him in the White House to put documents containing material falsehoods into government files that were about to be subpoenaed, and instructing the same folks to lie to FBI agents,” Napolitano writes. “Mueller did not seek an indictment of the president on these crimes because he knew that Barr, his boss, would not permit one.”

Nonetheless, Napolitano argues that “we know that Mueller’s obstruction allegations — which have not been effectively contradicted by the White House — constitute not only crimes but also impeachable offenses.”

    Amash continues:

Barr’s letter doesn’t mention those issues when explaining why Mueller chose not to make a prosecutorial decision. He instead selectively quotes Mueller in a way that makes it sound—falsely—as if Mueller’s decision stemmed from legal/factual issues specific to Trump’s actions.

In noting why Barr thought the president’s intent in impeding the investigation was insufficient to establish obstruction, Barr selectively quotes Mueller to make it sound as if his analysis was much closer to Barr’s analysis than it actually was.

Barr quotes Mueller saying the evidence didn’t establish that Trump was personally involved in crimes related to Russian election interference, and Barr then claims that Mueller found that fact relevant to whether the president had the intent to obstruct justice.

But Mueller’s quote is taken from a section in which he describes other improper motives Trump could have had and notes: “The injury to the integrity of the justice system is the same regardless of whether a person committed an underlying wrong.” None of that is in Barr’s letter.

As a result of Barr’s March 24 letter, the public and Congress were misled. Mueller himself notes this in a March 27 letter to Barr, saying that Barr’s letter “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this Office’s work and conclusions.”

Mueller: “There is now public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation. This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the Department appointed the Special Counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations.”

Barr declined; he allowed the confusion to fester and only released the materials three weeks later with the full redacted report. In the interim, Barr testified before a House committee and was misleading about his knowledge of Mueller’s concerns.

Barr was asked about reports “that members of [Mueller’s] team are frustrated…with the limited information included in your March 24th letter, that it does not adequately or accurately necessarily portray the report’s findings. Do you know what they’re referencing with that?”

Barr absurdly replied: “No, I don’t…I suspect that they probably wanted more put out.” Yet Mueller had directly raised those concerns to Barr, and Barr says he “suspect[s]” they “probably” wanted more materials put out, as if Mueller hadn’t directly told him that.

In subsequent statements and testimony, Barr used further misrepresentations to help build the president’s false narrative that the investigation was unjustified.

Barr says the White House “fully cooperated” with the investigation and that Mueller “never sought” or “pushed” to get more from the president, but the report says Mueller unsuccessfully sought an interview with the president for over a year.

The report says the president’s counsel was told that interviewing him was “vital” to Mueller’s investigation and that it would be in the interest of the public and the presidency. Still Trump refused.

The president instead gave written answers to questions submitted by the special counsel. Those answers are often incomplete or unresponsive. Mueller found them “inadequate” and again sought to interview the president.

Ultimately, the special counsel “recogniz[ed] that the President would not be interviewed voluntarily” and chose not to subpoena him because of concerns that the resulting “potentially lengthy constitutional litigation” would delay completion of the investigation.

Barr has so far successfully used his position to sell the president’s false narrative to the American people. This will continue if those who have read the report do not start pushing back on his misrepresentations and share the truth.

Justin Amash is an American hero—and a constitutional hero. The fact that Christians and conservatives are treating him as an enemy shows how deeply mired they are in the slimy pit of partisan politics and denial of truth. Our hero eloquently said, "When loyalty to a political party or to an individual trumps loyalty to the Constitution, the Rule of Law — the foundation of liberty — crumbles.” AMEN, Justin. The problem is, of course, there are barely a handful of congressmen and senators on Capitol Hill that have the integrity to put that bedrock liberty principle into practice—which is why the foundation of our liberty IS crumbling.

By the way, not ALL conservatives are damning Justin Amash to hell for his principled constitutional convictions. During his first Town Hall after calling for Trump’s impeachment, Amash received an enthusiastic standing ovation.

However, most Christians and conservatives who identify themselves as Republicans still labor under the delusion that Donald Trump is a genuine Washington “outsider” and fellow “conservative.” He’s not—and he never was. Trump is a Machiavellian miscreant and mountebank who is on the precipice of taking America into World War III for the benefit of his Zionist handlers in Israel. But anyone who isn’t taken in by this faker incurs the wrath of Trump’s legions of misled lackeys.

And while Trump’s toadies crucify Justin Amash, they continue to champion Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh as a fifth member of the Godhead (behind Donald Trump, who is the fourth member, of course). But just as they have it backwards regarding Justin Amash, so, too, they have it backwards regarding Kavanaugh.

Once again, it seems to fall on Judge Napolitano to set the record straight:

Fox News senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano thinks that anti-abortion advocates will be disappointed in Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh after a Tuesday decision by the nation’s top court.

The Supreme Court chose to sidestep part of a case that could have challenged the constitutional right to abortion set down as precedent by Roe v. Wade in 1973. The top court chose to overturn an appeal to reinstate a strict Indiana abortion law, which was signed by Vice President Mike Pence when he was still governor of the midwestern state.

“They [pro-life advocates] were expecting, let’s say, him [Kavanaugh] to be more decidedly pro-life,” he asserted.

The judge is right except that he mistakenly underestimates the vast majority of “pro-life” Christians’ and conservatives’ propensity to completely overlook Republican-appointed Supreme Court justices’ backslidings on the life issue—or on ANY issue, for that matter. They will continue to believe that GOP-appointed justices are going to overturn Roe v Wade even though it was a GOP-dominated court that passed Roe, a GOP-dominated court that has constantly reinforced Roe and a GOP-dominated court that has refused to overturn Roe—for over 46 years.

I tried to warn readers about Trump’s selection of Brett Kavanaugh to the SCOTUS, but, of course, the vast majority of Christians and conservatives chose to either totally ignore my warning or even attack me for issuing the warning. And it won’t matter to these people how many times Kavanaugh punts on the life issue.

People who expect the Supreme Court justices appointed by Trump (especially Brett Kavanaugh) to overturn Roe v Wade are living in a fantasy world. But, the truth is, they have been living in a fantasy world ever since they sold their souls to the Grand Pooh-Bah of charlatans, Donald Trump.

So, in the meantime, Christians and conservatives will continue to pillory Justin Amash and praise Brett Kavanaugh. It’s pathetic, I know; but these people are living under a great deception.

P.S. Speaking of great deception, I just released a unique DVD of my message The Three Great Deceptions of Church History.

The three great deceptions discussed in this message are:

    1. Judaism (in the early church period)

    2. Romanism (in the middle church period before the Protestant Reformation)

    3. Zionism (in the current church period, beginning in the mid-nineteenth century and early 20th century and continuing today)

This is the ONE message to give to your Christian Zionist friends (including those who subscribe to prophetic futurism and Israel-based dispensational eschatology). I consider this message to be the foundational message for my upcoming series of messages on Biblical eschatology—AFTER The Israel Package (containing 15 foundational messages to understanding the true Biblical teaching on the subject of Israel), that is. Before one can truly understand where Israel fits into Biblical eschatology, one must understand the foundational, undergirding Biblical principles pertaining to Israel.

In this message, I deal with Matthew 24 and Revelation 13 and show how these passages are hugely misinterpreted. I also go into depth in discussing the Book of Galatians, which, for the most part, is either totally ignored and glossed over or grossly misinterpreted by most pastors and churches today. The material in this message contains critical Biblical and historical truth that one will NOT hear in the majority of America's churches.

I encourage readers to order my DVD message The Three Great Deceptions Of Church History and share it with your loved ones and friends who are steeped in the great Zionist deception.
