The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

    Genesis 6:11, 13 (KJV)

(Note: This column was written before the results of the mid-term elections were known.)

The Creator-God who destroyed the Noahic antediluvian world made it clear that the primary reason for the colossal destruction of the universal flood on the earth was due to the gravest abomination that the nations of men can commit—the national sin most odious to God, the corrupt wickedness most hated by God: violence, the excessive, pervasive murder of our fellow human beings, the unrestrained immoral wars of aggression.

Mind you, this was 800 – 1,000 years before Moses wrote in the Decalogue, “Thou shalt not kill.” Meaning, God had given mankind a Natural Law written in their hearts regarding just and unjust conduct. Murder was (and still is) the most egregiously wicked of those behaviors regarded as unjust.

To this day, nations and empires have risen and fallen largely predicated upon the bloodlust of those societies. To be sure, when men have given themselves without conscience to the international crime of mass murder, other crimes are sure to follow. Hearts that feel no restraint to kill and keep killing are certainly deadened to other crimes, such as theft and greed (and all manner of financial/economic criminality), lack of basic honesty, falsehood and deceit, fraud, injustice, idolatry, cursing, disdain for the nuclear family, etc.

Insensitivity to murder means that man has become corrupt to his core. Most civilizations once corrupted to this level are beyond redemption. (The Assyrian capital city of Nineveh is one notable exception to this rule of thumb—at least its destruction was delayed for over 100 years.)

From the time that God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, was born into the world, the primary principle considered the most “Christlike” (Christian) was the love of and adherence to peace.

The prophet Isaiah foretold of Christ’s coming, calling Him “Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

At Christ’s birth in Bethlehem, the angels declared, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” (Luke 2:14)

To His followers, Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers.” (Matthew 5:9)

Jesus also said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.” (John 14:27)

The Gospel of Christ is called “The gospel of peace.” (Romans 10:15)

The Apostle Paul instructed the Roman Christians: “Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace.” (Romans 14:19)

Paul said to the Corinthian Church, “God hath called us to peace.” (I Corinthians 7:15)

He also told the Corinthians: “Live in peace.” (II Corinthians 13:11)

He told the Galatians: “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace.” (Galatians 5:22)

He told the Church at Colosse: “Let the peace of God rule in your hearts.” (Colossians 3:15)

He enjoined the Thessalonians to “Be at peace among yourselves.” (I Thessalonians 5:13)

To the Hebrews, Paul said, “Follow peace with all men” (Hebrews 12:14)

The Apostle Peter implored, “Seek peace, and ensue it.” (I Peter 3:11)

Love, joy and peace have been both the hallmark and the heart of Christian profession since Christ instituted His New Covenant with mankind two thousand years ago.

People by the millions were attracted to the Christian message of love, joy and peace here in the United States from its inception. That all began to unravel in 2001 when George W. Bush took office after publicly and very ostentatiously branding himself as a “born-again Christian.” Yet, what is Bush most noted for? Launching two unnecessary, unjust wars of aggression and taking America into a police/surveillance state.

As I said in this column last week:

After G.W. Bush launched his “war on terror” against Iraq and Afghanistan and took America into a surveillance state with the Patriot Act and Department of Homeland Security, I predicted on my nationally syndicated radio talk show that Bush’s war-lust would forever ruin evangelicalism in America.

Donald Trump is the fulfillment of that prediction.

I am chagrined to say it, but I was right.

An in-depth, investigative report released last month states that a ‘tsunami’ of church closings is poised to remake America.

    Here are excerpts:

Experts project an estimated 100,000 churches in the US will close or be repurposed over the next decade. Many churches will be unable to escape this “tsunami” of closings.

The shadow that hangs over the entire series, though, is the perilous future of the church. Christian leaders have been warning about the decline of American churches for decades. What’s new about the PBS series is that it presents portraits of the people and congregations behind this decline, along with specific numbers and a timeframe for the expected church closings.

The filmmaker behind “Christianity at a Crossroads” agrees with that assessment.

“The tsunami is going to continue for a while,” says Martin Doblmeier, the founder and president of Journey Films, a production company specializing in movies and TV series about faith.

One of American church leaders’ biggest fears is that their country will become more like Western Europe — a “post-Christian” landscape filled with empty cathedrals and church buildings converted to condos.

Typical for media coverage of religion, reports seldom recognize the spiritual realities impacting the statistics, focusing rather on shallow, exterior matters such as atmosphere, programs, music, technology, buildings, location, generationalism, traditions, etc.

The glaring evidence of this exodus tsunami from evangelical/Protestant churches shows that the exodus began in earnest at the advent of this century. That is a fact. It began under the two presidential administrations of G.W. Bush. It began when Bush led evangelical Christians into an illicit love affair with WAR.

While Barack Obama and Joe Biden did nothing to reverse America’s bloodlust (especially Biden, who led America into a genocidal partnership with the most demonic, bloodthirsty, murderous man in the 21st century, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu), neither of these men had endeared themselves to evangelical Christians. In truth, the wars of Obama and Biden were the one thing that evangelicals actually liked about these two Democrats.

    Enter Donald Trump.

Trump will go down in history as the greatest warmonger of the early 21st century. He will also go down in history as the U.S. president most controlled by a foreign government (Israel).

But the greatest disaster of Donald Trump is that he drug the vast majority of evangelicals (approximately 80% of them) into the hell of war with him. He turned peacemakers into warmongers.

Obviously, a tectonic shift of this nature doesn’t happen overnight or even in twenty-six years. It has been germinating since, well, since 1948, when the State of Zionist Israel came into existence. And, actually, it began in 1909 when Cyrus Scofield published the Zionist-inspired and Zionist-financed Scofield Reference Bible. But it took the advent of the Zionist state in 1948 to bring Scofieldism to cult status, especially after 1967 and the Israeli war of aggression against its Arab neighbors that historians call The Six-Day War.

Israel’s victory in that war cemented its “chosen people” status in the hearts and minds of evangelicals. And even Israel’s attempted sinking of the USS Liberty, killing 34 U.S. Sailors and Marines and wounding 70% of the ship’s crew, would not be enough to awaken evangelicals to the demonic nature of the Zionist state.

Therefore, by the time G.W. Bush came along, evangelicals were already Christian Zionists. But Bush made them Christian Zionist warmongers. And now Donald Trump has turned Christian Zionist warmongers into Christian Zionist Nationalist warmongers. And uber warmongers, at that.

Christian Zionist White Nationalist Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth wears his warmongering soul in Crusader tattoos all over his body for all to see. That Trump would pick such a warmongering bigot as America’s Secretary of Defense is a visible testament to the warmongering heart of Donald Trump.

And, of course, Trump’s continuance of the U.S. proxy war in Ukraine and his partnership of the genocides in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon, and his wars of aggression against Yemen and Iran have proven to the entire world that he is a demonic, Zionist-controlled warmonger of the highest (or lowest, depending on how you use the term) order.

Let me be clear. The problem is not that Bush and Trump were warmongers. Many U.S. presidents in both parties throughout the 20th century were warmongers. The problem is that Bush and especially Trump wrapped themselves in the Christian flag and had the almost universal support of evangelical Christians.

    THAT’S the problem!

Even nominal Christians and people of no faith looked to Jesus’ teachings of love, joy and peace as a beacon of hope. Most people in evangelical churches didn’t begin life in a Christian home (many did, of course). Most of them came to Christ during a time of personal crisis or grief or disorientation. Most men must come to the end of themselves in order to find Christ. The point is, when that moment came, they were ready to accept Christ for themselves, because in their subconscious, they believed that the message of Christ was a loving, hopeful message.

Bush and especially Trump turned Christ’s message of love, joy and peace into a message of bombs, hate and death. And people by the millions have been walking away from the evangelical/Zionist version of Christianity ever since.

If the report above is accurate and 100,000 evangelical churches close during the next decade, that will equate to almost one-third of all the evangelical churches in the country. ONE-THIRD!

How far will this go before evangelicals fall out of love with WAR? The answer to that question will determine how soon evangelicalism falls back in favor with peace-loving people (which most people by nature are), churched and unchurched.
