Trump Set To Enact More Gun Control

I wish Donald Trump would stop giving me cause to write about him. I don’t enjoy this. Every time I tell the truth about Trump, I lose “friends.” I lose financial support. My email inbox fills up with hate mail. People just don’t want to hear the truth about Donald Trump. But if I don’t write about him, hardly anyone else will. Conservatives and constitutionalists by the droves have fallen prey to Trump’s duplicity.

But as far as I’m concerned, if we constitutionalists don’t remain consistent in our support of the Constitution and in our opposition to those civil magistrates (ANY civil magistrate) that violate it, we are nothing but pretenders and charlatans. Whether a president or congressman has an “R” or a “D” behind their name shouldn’t mean diddly-squat. And to me it doesn’t.

On October 19 of last year, I wrote a column entitled “They Are Coming For Our Guns.” I said then that President Trump was going to ban “bump stocks.” Of course, the Trump toadies roared their defiance at what I had written and assured me that Trump would NEVER enact more gun control. But guess what? Enacting more gun control is exactly what Trump has announced he is doing. It didn’t take long.

FOX News reported: “President Trump on Tuesday directed Attorney General Jeff Sessions to craft new regulations to ban firearm modifiers including the ‘bump stock’ used in the Las Vegas massacre, amid bipartisan calls to strengthen gun laws in the wake of recent shooting rampages.

“During an event at the White House, the president announced he signed a memo ordering the regulations on ‘bump stocks’ and told Sessions he wants new federal guidelines finalized ‘very soon.’”

Trump wrote in the memo, ‘Although the Obama administration repeatedly concluded that particular bump stock type devices were lawful to purchase and possess, I sought further clarification of the law restricting fully automatic machineguns.’”

Did you pay attention to that last paragraph, folks? Donald Trump actually rebuked Barack Obama for NOT enacting more gun control by banning “bump stocks.” Trump is proud of himself for enacting gun control measures that Barack Obama wouldn’t enact. Ponder that one for awhile.

I tell you the truth: Had Obama enacted this ban on “bump stocks,” pro-gun conservatives would have screamed their heads off in opposition. But you watch: These same pro-gun conservatives will say absolutely nothing about Trump doing it.

FOX News goes on to say: “During Tuesday’s press briefing, the White House said the president opposes the ‘bump stock’ rifle modifier, which make semi-automatic firearms fire faster.

“‘I can tell you the president supports not having the use of bump stocks and that we expect further action on that in the coming days,’ White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said Tuesday.”

As I said in this column on October 19:

The wording of these gun control bills is so vague that the ATF or a gun-grabbing judge could interpret the bills to mean just about anything. This is just a clever way of giving the government another opportunity to ban whatever it wants.

    I also wrote:

What many people do not realize is that folks who know what they are doing can use a rubber band or belt loop to make a semi-automatic rifle mimic a full-automatic rifle in much the same way as a “bump stock” does. I’m not kidding. Look it up for yourself. Would the bill then ban rubber bands and belt loops?

I even know men who can mimic the effects of a “bump stock” with the assistance of nothing but their finger.

In my column on October 19, I also said:

Anyone who really thinks that they can depend on Donald Trump to keep his word about protecting the Second Amendment is gambling their liberties on the word of a disingenuous, unsavory, and untrustworthy conniver. Cutting deals is what Trump brags that he does better than anybody. He wrote the book on it. Cutting a deal to sign another gun control bill for some favor down the road is extremely likely with Trump.

I wish my prediction about Trump’s compromise of the Second Amendment had been wrong, but it wasn’t. And Trump is just getting started.

Not only is President Trump about to ban “bump stocks” (and any device gun-grabbing ATF bureaucrats will determine falls under the “bump stock” umbrella), he is also going to tighten the restrictions on background checks for gun purchases.

Still quoting FOX News: “Sanders said the White House hasn’t ‘closed the door on any front.’

“She also said, ‘The president has expressed his support for efforts to improve the federal background system and in the coming days we will continue to explore ways to ensure the safety and security of our schools.’”

    See the report here:

Trump Urges Ban On 'Bump Stocks,' Other Gun Modifiers

According to RT.com, “Trump spoke with Senator John Cornyn, a Texas Republican, on Friday about a bill he introduced with Senator Chris Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat, that aims to strengthen how state and federal governments report offenses that could prohibit people from buying a gun, according to White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

“‘While discussions are ongoing and revisions are being considered, the president is supportive of efforts to improve the federal background check system,’ Sanders said in a statement on Monday.

“The bill, which was initially suggested in November 2017 following the shooting in Las Vegas, would bolster the FBI database of prohibited gun buyers and would penalize federal agencies that fail to provide the necessary records. It would also reward states with federal grant preferences if they adhere to the rules.

“The issue of background checks on gun purchases has erupted with fervor in the wake of last week’s deadly shooting in Florida. Suspected shooter Nikolas Cruz was ‘troubled’ and reportedly suffers from mental ill-health, yet was still able to acquire an AR-15 rifle. He opened fire at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland on Wednesday.”

    See the report here:

Trump Supports More Background Checks On Guns, Says White House

Senator Chris Murphy is one of the most rabid gun control zealots in the U.S. Congress. Murphy and his gaggle of gun grabbers have been trying to pass “mental health” restrictions on gun purchases for years. And Donald Trump is now apparently following suit.

“President Trump promised tougher background checks and mental health screens for gun buyers as he met with students, parents and teachers at the White House Wednesday [yesterday] to discuss ways to prevent massacres like the one at a Florida high school last week.

“‘It’s not going to be talk like it has been in the past,’ Trump said.”

“Trump's meeting Wednesday came a day after he announced the signing of a memorandum instructing Attorney General Jeff Sessions to regulate the use of bump stocks, effectively banning the use of the devices that can enable rifles to mimic automatic weapons.”

Trump Vows Tougher Background Checks, Mental Health Screens For Gun Buyers In Meeting With Students

I’m telling you that including “mental health” restrictions in background checks for gun purchases is opening Pandora’s Box for backdoor gun control like you cannot believe. This is as draconian a proposal as it can be.

Think of it: What gun grabbers like Chris Murphy could not accomplish with anti-gun Barack Obama in the White House they are about to accomplish with pro-gun Donald Trump in the White House. Again, ponder that one for awhile.

Any “mental health” restrictions for gun purchases will be couched in a catch-all language that could be applied to virtually anyone that a government bureaucrat wants it applied to. Over 260,000 U.S. veterans (as of two years ago) are already being denied gun purchases because they have been diagnosed with PTSD. And this is before Trump’s tighter restrictions—or should I say, Chris Murphy’s tighter restrictions—have been implemented.

“Mental health” could include things like a person’s age, the kind of prescription medication one takes—or even one’s belief system. We already have precedents of police agencies labeling conservatives as “extremists” and “potentially dangerous.”

A few years ago, a Missouri law enforcement agency referred to certain Christians and conservatives as “extremists” and “potentially dangerous” and even as being possible “domestic terrorists.” People who opposed any of the following were directly inferred in the Missouri police report:

    The New World Order
    The United Nations
    Gun Control
    The violation of Posse Comitatus
    The Federal Reserve
    The Income Tax
    The Ammunition Accountability Act
    A possible Constitutional Convention (Con-Con)
    The North American Union

    Universal Service Program
    Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
    Abortion-on-demand
    Illegal Immigration

    Please read my report here:

Missouri State Police Think You And I Are Terrorists

With Trump’s likely new “mental health” restrictions on gun purchases, any or all of the above beliefs have the potential to land one on the “no buy” list. Remember, these new rules and restrictions will be in force long after President Trump leaves office. They will be interpreted and enforced by both Democrat and Republican administrations from now on.

Again, this is nothing more than draconian backdoor gun control.

And then there is this: During Tuesday’s White House press briefing, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders was asked if President Trump supports reinstating the 1994 - 2004 “assault weapons” ban (which he used to support). Sanders responded by again saying, “We haven’t closed the door on any front.”

That’s hardly the response one would expect to receive from a committed pro-Second Amendment president.

Trump also suggested this week that he is open to raising the minimum age for buying a rifle—or at least certain types of rifles. Everyone knows he is referring to AR-15-style rifles.

My response to that is if 18-year-olds are too young to purchase AR-15 semi-automatic rifles, they are definitely much too young to serve in the U.S. military and fire everything from M16 and M4 fully automatic rifles to M240B machine guns to M2 .50 caliber machine guns to M134 GAU-17 Gatling Guns.

Trump did say one good thing this week. He suggested that arming teachers would help deter gun violence in schools. DUH! If he had just said THAT and left the rest out, it would have been a fantastic response. As it is, let’s see which of Trump’s proposals will be left standing at the end of the day. It is all but certain that Trump’s new gun control measures will wind up being the law of the land (and very soon), while arming teachers in the classroom won’t see the light of day—at least not with any federal help.

While Trump is bribing states with federal money to adopt the more restrictive gun control measures he is proposing, why doesn’t he use the same tactic and send federal money to schools who will arm their teachers? Why not? Because Trump is not really serious about arming teachers, but he is very serious about enacting new gun control; that’s why.

Quoting my October 19 column again:

Instead of talking about MORE gun control—as Trump is doing—he should be starting the process of expunging existing gun control laws. The answer to gun violence is for government (federal, State, and municipal) to get rid of their life-endangering gun control laws and let the American people lawfully arm themselves. In other words, the “pro-gun” GOP White House and Congress (as well as State and local governments) should immediately eliminate America’s gun-free zones.

Plus, to enact ANY gun control law is to give in to the erroneous notion that an inanimate object is the source of evil and that we must allow government to exercise dominion over our liberties in the name of protecting us from that inanimate object—whatever it is. The entire presupposition is fatally flawed. How anyone who claims to believe in liberty and the fundamental right of self-defense can swallow this illogic defies common sense.

See my column “They Are Coming For Our Guns” here:

They Are Coming For Our Guns

There is only one antidote for mass shootings: an armed citizenry. Gun control laws and gun-free zones facilitate mass shootings.

Every parent of a child in school (any school) needs to start demanding that their states immediately allow the adult teachers, faculty, staff, custodians, etc., in America's schools (and the adult students in the colleges and universities) who are willing and able to do so to ARM THEMSELVES on school property and in the classroom.

Furthermore, the American people should be allowed to be armed virtually anywhere. Criminals and mass murderers don’t pay any attention to gun control laws. The school in Florida was a gun-free zone. That didn’t stop the killer from using a gun to kill people, did it? But what it did do was prevent teachers and adult faculty members or employees from being able to protect the students entrusted to their care.

I would think that every parent of a school child in America would realize the danger they are putting their children in every day by allowing politicians and school administrators to disarm the ones who are most able and most responsible to protect those children who are entrusted to their care and would demand that school personnel be armed.

There is only one way to stop a bad guy with a gun, and that's with a good guy with a gun.

Donald Trump promised that he would be a trusted pro-Second Amendment president.

In a speech to the NRA last year, Trump boasted, “You have a true friend and champion in the White House. No longer will federal agencies be coming after law-abiding gun owners. No longer will the government be trying to undermine your rights and your freedoms as Americans.”

But now, Donald Trump is himself enacting more gun control laws that will be used by gun-grabbing bureaucrats and judges to further allow federal agencies to come after law-abiding gun owners and will further allow the government to undermine our rights and our freedoms as Americans.

And what will Second Amendment advocates do about Trump’s new gun control measures? If the last year is any indicator, they will do what other so-called conservatives have done when Trump violated his oath to the Constitution and broke his promises to the American people: NOTHING.

P.S. Since today is George Washington’s birthday, I want to encourage readers to get a copy of George Washington’s Farewell Address. I consider George Washington’s Farewell Address to be the greatest political address ever delivered to the American people, which is why I am making this historic address available in this special printing.

In his Farewell Address, Washington warned against foreign entanglements, political factions (parties), and sectionalism—and promoted religion, morality, and education. A return to the principles contained in Washington's Farewell Address would most certainly restore our republic—even now.

And this special printing of George Washington’s Farewell Address is priced low enough that many people would be able to order several copies for friends. With the purchase of three of more copies, there is no charge for shipping (for domestic orders only; international rates vary).
