Patriot Pulpits And Liberty Churches Are America’s Only Solution
I am absolutely convinced that the only way we are going to achieve any semblance of a genuine solution to our country’s ills is to resurrect patriot pulpits and liberty churches. There is no other solution. The Republican Party is just as much a part of the problem as is the Democrat Party. Conservatives are as culpable as are liberals. Christians are as problematic as are unbelievers. If we do not see a resurrection of patriot pulpits and liberty churches, everything else is merely a Band-Aid. As the pulpits go, so goes the nation. America’s problem is not the White House; it is the church house.
I am also aware that what I am doing as the pastor of Liberty Fellowship in Kalispell, Montana, is way out front of (or outside the box of, however one wants to say it) the understanding of the vast majority of professing believers. However, if one would take the time to read the sermons of Colonial pastors such as John Leland, John Witherspoon, James Caldwell, John Peter Muhlenberg, Elisha Williams, Charles Chauncy, Jonathan Mayhew, Isaac Backus, Samuel Sherwood, Jacob Cushing, Samuel Cooper, Samuel Langdon, Enos Hitchcock, Ebenezer Baldwin, etc., one would discover that my sermons track much closer to their sermons than those one would hear preached in ninety-five percent of America’s churches today. But, the problem is the vast majority of today’s pastors and preachers have completely lost sight of that kind of preaching. The result is, such preaching seems odd--even unbiblical--to most Christians.
For one thing, the patriot pulpits of Colonial America did not subscribe to the fallacious “Obey-The-Government-No-Matter-What” claptrap that the vast majority of pastors teach today. Secondly, they were not encumbered and muzzled into silence by any such thing as a 501c3 IRS tax-exempt status. Those two things have been the one-two knockout punch that has literally left America’s pastors--the watchmen on the wall--lying unconscious on the canvass. And even though I often feel like I’m trying to drain the Pacific Ocean with a teacup, the reality of the comatose condition of America’s churches forces me to not rest without doing everything in my ability to help resurrect the patriot pulpit and liberty church.
And, at this point, let me hasten to acknowledge that I fully recognize that I am not the Lone Ranger in this fight. Pastors such as Dr. Greg Dixon have been on the front lines of this endeavor a lot longer than I. The problem is, these men are far and few between. Celebrity-preachers such as Joel Osteen and Rick Warren, along with hundreds of “mega-church” pastors have become the de facto leaders of the modern church--and they have turned our churches into little more than entertainment centers and financial corporations. The largest “mega-churches” have much more in common with Disney World and Wall Street than they do the church in the Book of Acts.
Somehow, someway, we must resurrect patriot pulpits and liberty churches in this country. America’s very survival depends on it.
I certainly do not pretend to know all of the answers on how to accomplish this gigantic task. And I’m also sure that I am not doing the job as perfectly as it needs to be done. I have made mistakes; I will make more. But as long as God’s sovereign grace protects and strengthens me, I intend to take the liberty message to the length and breadth of this country. Obviously, I cannot do it alone; I need like-minded liberty-lovers in the Body of Christ to help me.
Faithful readers of this column know that I am attempting to launch the Liberty Church Project. This is a project designed to help me (and the team that I have formed) travel across the country helping ministers and laymen alike establish fresh, new liberty churches--or, in some cases, helping pastors resurrect the patriot pulpit in existing churches. I am literally inundated with requests for such assistance.
The good news is we are about sixty-percent toward achieving the financial goal we need to launch the project. And the enthusiasm is high among the thousands of people who are praying that this project becomes a reality. Here is an example of what I mean:
A man I will only identify by his initials sent a large donation to the Liberty Church Project. Here is his letter:
“Hello Pastor Chuck,
“As a tradition-minded businessman who achieved earthly success using the concept of ‘Operation Bootstraps,’ I know what struggle is all about.
“The Liberty Church Project is the way to go for all of the reasons you cite. So, don’t roll over if the troops are slow to act. Keep hammering. It will work.
“Enclosed is enough for two shares ($10,000). Now go embarrass your flock with this and tell them they must pony up…$1,000, $3,000, etc. You will get it.
“Tell them they can’t take it with them. Leave a legacy!”
D.G.
So, I’m using this wonderful man’s injunction: “Leave a legacy!” Our country is imploding and the vast majority of our pastors and churches are oblivious to the authority and power that they wield to do something about it. We could wake up any morning and find that all of that fiat money we have in the bank is next to worthless. How long will God withhold final judgment upon this nation? How long will He wait for His shepherds to awaken from their slumber? I wonder how many pastors in what became Nazi Germany wished to God they had listened to Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Martin Niemoeller.
America is following in the steps of Nazi Germany, and America’s pastors and churches are mimicking the “national” pastors and churches of Germany by willingly subjecting their congregations (and their very souls) to an idolatrous submission to Caesar.
If your share my burden to see resurrected patriot pulpits and liberty churches across America, I am asking for your help. I cannot launch this project without sufficient funding. I have a team of people standing by to help me; hundreds of people across the country are already soliciting our assistance; but I still need $40,000 to launch the Liberty Church Project.
Think of it: if only 8 people would give $5,000, the goal would be met. Or, if 20 people would give $2,000, the goal would be met. You get the idea. If only a few people will take D.G.’s challenge and “pony up,” the need would be quickly met, and we could launch the project.

Please help me launch the Liberty Church Project. Who knows but what history will record that you and I were at the tip of the spear in helping to restore what became the impetus for another spiritual awakening and revival of liberty in America? Whether I live to see it or not, I’m doing this in the hopes that my children and grandchildren will live to see it.
Please help me “leave a legacy!”
