I have received scores of correspondence from people all asking the same question, "So, what do we do now?" These are people who agree with me that neither the Republican Party nor most churches offer any hope for America's future; in fact, they are part of the problem.
It should also be pointed out that the percentage of people who recognize the depth of our nation's doo-doo is quite small. There is no "moral majority" today. Just the opposite. When it comes to knowledge and devotion to our great founding principles, today's Americans are mostly ignorant and unconcerned, and this includes today's professing Christians.
Further exacerbating the problem is the fact that most of those people who could and should be helping to provide a solution have mostly married themselves to the Republican Party and to President Bush in particular. They refuse to recognize that Bush and his band of brothers in the Republican Party have contributed as much to the decline of our founding principles as have the Democrats.
However, it is the churches that must accept most of the blame for America's spiraling deterioration. They have all but rejected true Bible preachers and have replaced them with high-paid and very talented spiritual entertainers. The subjects of sin, hell, and judgment are as distasteful to the modern church as outhouses.
Therefore, the question arises, "What do we do now?" To support the Republican Party is a giant waste of time. To expect churches and TV evangelists to come to the rescue is only wishful thinking. Secession, which I support in theory, has no momentum and is totally unrealistic. So, what do we do?
It seems to me that there is little we can do. I think it's out of our hands. God is preparing America for judgment! True prophets have been rejected as irrational, irrelevant idiots. In virtually every area of society (including the church), everyone is doing what is right in his or her own eyes. The ship of state is rolling in tumultuous waves with no compass and no rudder.
There is a faithful remnant, of course, which sees and understands what is happening. They are mostly obscure, unknown individuals, and they are quite scattered and totally unorganized. It would be nice if the remnant could get together once in awhile, if for nothing else but to say and hear, "We love you, and we're with you." You tell me, however, how and where does even that happen?
