The Barack Obama Justice and Education departments have declared that all public schools be required to institute gender-neutral bathrooms where boys can freely enter girls’ bathrooms and vice versa. Failure to comply threatens federal funding. But putting boys in girls’ bathrooms is NOT where the proclamation stops. Writing for National Review, David French reports, “You may not have realized it yet, but the Obama administration just destroyed the traditional American public school. Without an act of Congress, without a ruling from the Supreme Court, and without even going through the motion...

For as long as I can remember, Christians and conservatives, for the most part, have NEVER been willing to support a third-party candidate--especially for the office of President of the United States. All we usually hear from these people is: “You are wasting your vote. A vote for the third party is a vote for the Democrat. We must support the Republican Party.” And it doesn’t matter how liberal or phony or big-government the GOP candidate is, either. George H.W. Bush. Bob Dole. John McCain. Mitt Romney. You can’t scrape them from the bottom any lower than these guys. Name the salient f...

Tuesday, May 3, was my 64th birthday. Accordingly, it is time for my annual “Personal” column. I think it only fair that readers should have an opportunity to learn a little something about the person who writes the words they read. Today’s column is designed with that goal in mind. And since Charley Reese (one of my favorite columnists) stopped writing, I am the only national columnist that does this, as far as I know. So, here goes. I was born and raised in a small town in northern Indiana. My father and mother were dedicated Christians. Dad was a welder by trade and a member of the Teamste...

A recent study by the Brennan Center for Justice shows that more than half of all of the murder increases in the United States were centered in just three cities: Baltimore, Maryland; Chicago, Illinois; and Washington, D.C. That’s an incredible statistic when you stop and think about it. Over half of U.S. murder increases came from just three cities. During 2015, there were 344 homicides in Baltimore, 465 in Chicago, and 162 in D.C. Of course, the Brennan Center report mostly blames “economic factors” for the increase in murders in these cities: “These serious increases seem to be lo...

The Matriarch of the pro-life, pro-family, Christian Right movement is the elegant stateswoman Phyllis Schlafly. She has no peer; there is no close second. At age 91, she remains the icon of America’s pro-life community. Phyllis received her B.A. from Washington University, her J.D. from Washington University Law School, and she received her Master’s in Government from Harvard University. She worked her way through college on the night shift at the St. Louis Ordnance Plant testing .30 and .50 caliber ammunition by firing rifles and machine guns and as a laboratory technician investigating misfires ...

Let me begin with a cold, hard (albeit unpopular) fact:   1. The Neocons in Washington, D.C., are not only America’s greatest threat; they are the world’s greatest threat.   Compared to the threat that Neocons pose to world peace and the sheer numbers of people killed by Neocon-generated wars (numbering into the millions of people), militant Muslims are like children playing with squirt guns in a sand box. And forget the left-right, conservative-liberal paradigm you’ve always been taught. All of that is only for electioneering. The real battle is between Americanism and Glo...

Several friends and supporters around the country have recently asked me the question, “Where do we go from here?” These are people who love and fear God, who love their country, who love freedom, who see the burgeoning abridgments of our liberties by an overbearing and ever-intrusive federal government, and who, frankly, see little reason to believe that either political party will do much of anything to change things--regardless of who is elected. And, frankly, I share their frustration.   For the most part, the two major parties are controlled by the same big-government, Police State-lov...

I am often asked to recommend reading material. I have published my suggested reading lists before, but it’s been several years. Therefore, today’s column will be devoted to this subject.   First, here are a couple of maxims about reading in general. “Leaders are readers.” And, “A man is the sum total of the people he associates with and the books he reads.”   Accordingly, here are a few of the books that I have recently read, that I am currently reading, or that are on my short list of books soon to read (in no particular order).   Life Of Wash...

America’s entitlement society has now reached its zenith. For over a half-century, the United States government and its 501c3 corporate churches have indoctrinated several generations of Americans in welfarism--or more commonly known as socialism. When I was a boy growing up, my dad had another name for it: something-for-nothing. And in his lexicon, that term was more than an oxymoron: it represented something that didn’t even exist. To him, there was no such thing as something-for-nothing, even if people acted as if there were--and to desire such a thing was the height of dishonesty and villainy. Oh,...

March 6 marked the anniversary of the fall of the Alamo outside of San Antonio, Texas, back in 1836. This event was so significant in my mind that I always try to devote a column that honors the heroism of these men on or around the anniversary of the occasion.   For 13 days, 189 brave and determined patriots withstood Santa Anna’s seasoned army of over 4,000 troops. To a man, the defenders of that mission fort knew they would never leave those ramparts alive. They had several opportunities to leave and live. Yet, they chose to fight and die. How foolish they must look to this generation of spoil...
