Meet Me In Valley Forge, Pennsylvania

    Published: Friday, June 4, 2004

I would like to devote this column to inviting my readers to join me in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, Thursday-Saturday, June 23-26, for the Constitution Party National Convention. During this convention, Michael Peroutka and I will be nominated as the Party's Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates for this year's election. It would be a huge honor for me to have readers of this column present for this historic occasion.

The setting of this convention, Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, could not be more appropriate. As you know, it was here that General George Washington and his brave but battered men were forced to endure some of the most unimaginable hardships ever recorded in the annals of human history. By any standard, the odds of their success were miniscule. They had to endure the most inclement weather possible, fatigue, frostbite, starvation, and scores of other obstacles.

In spite of awful adversities, General Washington was able to keep his army intact. Had they not survived that awful winter in 1777 at Valley Forge, America would not be a free and independent nation today. Valley Forge, perhaps more than any other, is the symbol of America's resolve in our struggle for freedom. Now, by the Providence of God, it will be Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, that will once again mark the beginning of another impossible task, another fight against all odds: the battle to restore America to its founding principles. And just as with General Washington and his beleaguered but stouthearted soldiers, it is a battle we fully intend to win!

However, just as in Colonial America some two hundred years ago, we need soldiers to answer the call to battle today. That bell for freedom is ringing in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, on June 23- 26, 2004. Will you join us?

The accommodations in Valley Forge are exceedingly more comfortable than they were for General Washington's Continental Army. In fact, the accommodations and atmosphere of this convention are nothing short of spectacular! It will be the experience of a lifetime.

Perhaps you have never been to Valley Forge or to the numerous other historic sites nearby such as Gettysburg or the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. Why not take a little vacation and visit these wonderful, historic places? There will be several guided tours to selected historic sites near Valley Forge throughout the week. Activities for children are also planned. In short, everyone in the family will find something special to do.

Let me also point out that you do NOT have to be a member of the Constitution Party to attend this convention. If you are a patriotic American who believes our country is heading in the wrong direction and desperately needs to return to our founding principles, you will feel right at home. Only Party delegates will be able to actually participate in the voting process, of course, but anyone and everyone may attend the meetings.

There are several very special speakers scheduled to appear. You can read about the speakers, schedule of events, location, directions, accommodations, reservations, etc., by going to the Constitution Party web site at http://www.constitutionparty.com.

I believe that this is one of those rare occasions that has the potential to set in motion the forces that can change the course and destiny of a nation. I pray that is exactly what will happen. It would also be great to personally meet many of you who faithfully read these columns.

Please prayerfully consider taking a trip to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, on June 23-26, 2004. And when you come, be sure to introduce yourself to me. I would love to meet you.
